About CFB Kingston
The Canadian Forces Base Kingston (CFB Kingston) is located in Eastern Ontario and was established in 1966, formerly known as the Barriefield Military Camp in 1914.
The base has since expanded as one of the largest training bases in Canada and is responsible for providing training facilities and support services to its respective units for Land Force Command, now known as the Canadian Army.
What is an EPC?

Through an Energy Performance Contract (EPC), a company is contracted to pay for and carry out an important energy retrofit project at over 100 CFB Kingston buildings across the base. The money saved in energy costs is then used to pay the company back over a 15 year pay-back period!
Energy Performance Contracts achieve significant energy savings and GHG emission reduction, while at the same time upgrading facilities at little or no up-front costs to the taxpayer. The energy savings are guaranteed by the company who implements the project resulting in a safe and sustainable investment for Base facilities. Our selected provider, Johnson Controls, then guarantees the energy savings and implements the project resulting in a safe and sustainable investment for facilities.
